  • How to take the start?
  • What should be the target location?
  • How to do marketing?
  • Is there really a scope for it?
I am having 17 years of experience in IT and Telecom sector working in different roles but not in UK. Now trying to establish myself here with help of all you guys.

Please support and share your response.

Regards,
Azfar

Cyber security is becoming increasingly important. Your question, however, is far too broad. You are basically asking us to tell you everything you need to know to start and run your business.

Realistically you are going to need to pay someone to help you market your business. You may have the technical security skills, but I don't think you have the business or marketing skills required to be successful.

There is a lot of money to be made in cyber security. The problem with this is that it attracts a lot of knowledgeable and we'll funded businesses to take advantage of the opportunity. You'll need to take professional advice to find an easy and cheap way to deal with this sort of competition.

You are right, i am a techy rather a business mind person however i would definitely require the services from the marketing and business development professional but that would be at later stages.
Right now, i am in make or buy decision and doing some mind mapping and collecting the valuable suggestions like you mentioned.

Already there is a lot of competition in cybersecurity. "Pen testing" has almost become the new "webdesign". Cybersecurity or infosec, is now a huge area with many areas of specialisation such as HTTP security, DNS security, encrypted communication, OSINT, virtualisation security etc. Find a niche which you are really good on. Focus on that, then write about it, do talks on it, setup up your own home lab for experiments, report your findings in your blog or on twitter. Do amazing stuff. Stand out from the crowd. Get noticed.

When starting out, what you need to remember is the simple formula of VCP

Visibility - have you done talks, written a blog, appeared or have you been mentioned in the media etc?

Credibility - Have you got evidence to backup your expertise? For example, have you received testimonials?

Hopefully, this should lead to profitability....
