Hi everyone

I am looking to improve on my cv so thought I would ask everyone for some help on here, if possible would you be willing to email me your cv. I can provide you with my email address to forward on to myself, this is just so I get to see what a successful cv should be like etc. Or if possible pass the message on please.

Thanks.

Hi rob

I understand that, but I am not ready to
Run a business I just asked the question to see if anyone would provide me with there cv to help me improve mine, again just to see a proven successful cv and what I can learn from them.

you are better off talking to a CV specialist, they will understand what a good CV looks like and how to improve yours.

a client of mine offers a free cv review here, and then you can ask her to help you rewrite it to be more professional

It may not be worth the cost if you're only applying for entry level jobs, but if you're going for more higher paid roles, the cost paid to get this done will be well worth the investment :)

What I meant is that because this forum is for people who run their own business, many (most?) will not have a current CV.

Hello and welcome to the forum

I think the OP was asking for a CV... not a 'copy and paste' hi and welcome to the forum message ;) lol (Cheeky!)

Hi @Justin101 - I think you could be asking in the wrong place, as the earlier responder stated, most people on here are self employed and therefore don't have or need a CV so they won't be able to help you.

BY literally searching 'What does a successful CV look like' on Google you'll see loads of examples and also tips and blog posts that should help you too!

Good Luck with your search :)

Hi Justin. This web page gives excellent advice (and examples) of good CV's:
kent~ac~uk/careers/cv/goodbadCV~htm (I'm unable to post links yet so change ~ to .)

Basic points to remember:
  • Try and keep it to two pages maximum.
  • Don't waffle on, keep it short but enough good content to keep people reading.
  • Ensure you have no spelling or grammar mistakes (obvious, but very important).
