Customised email after PayPal purchase

I'd like to send an automatic email to my customers after completing PayPal purchase. Currently, I get the standard PayPal payment confirmation messages sent to myself and the customer. These include all the relevant info but I'd like to send a personalised email to say "Thank you for purchasing etc etc" in an email template containing all the order details.

I've tried using MailChimp and sending all the PayPal transaction data through PayPal IPN but their integration method only supports the basic email, name and address fields.

Does anyone know of other email marketing handlers that do support this? Any other ideas on achieving this would be appreciated.

Hi try jotform.com it's great, you can integrate PayPal and send very customised emails with whatever information you like including graphics, merged fields etc. very good service and depending in volumes it's is free for first 10 transactions.

Highly recommended.

Fortis - thanks, that's a handy little site. I don't think there's anything there to help with this issue though. I'm using PayPal Standard Business page to take payment and that is all behind PayPal closed doors.

Through their IPN Notification URL I can point their data to any script I want - its just that I can't fine a 3rd party that can integrate with it.

Looks like I'm going to have to do the donkey work myself. Here is my starting point ...

The site is at ... paypaltech. This simple script receives the PayPal IPN Post, writes ALL variables to an email and sends it using the php mail function.

I still think there must be a ready made email marketing tool with templates etc out here to plug in to. So, if anyone does find one please post it here.
