Customer needs to create log in on Zen Cart

Looking at getting a new site together using Zen-Cart. It looks like customers will need to create a log in before they are allowed to process their order.

Firstly does anyone know if this is the case and secondly, if so, any feedback on whether this puts people off from buying?

Hi William,

Some shopping carts have a 'guest' checkout option whereby you don't need a login. I believer there is a module for ZenCart that will allow this.

The default zen cart requires user to sign up or login. As Simon said, you can add a module. Login or signup can really put buyer off, at least for me...

If you are using Paypal as your Payment options just enable paypal express thats what most users do. If you need any help just PM me

If memory serves me right there is an option in Zen Cart to allow checkouts without requiring customer sign up.

Regardless, you can customise the form...add and remove the fields you want to be default, and if you're shipping products you're going to need a customer address etc anyway, so the sign up form is necessary.

As per above.

Paypal express does speed things up somewhat.

There are plugins to reduce the number of checkout steps on the standard Zencart install.

And of course, there are plugins available so that you can run reports on abandoned carts etc.

Best of all, the plugins above are all free and you could probably install them yourself assuming you have basic / intermediate IT skills.

Like everyone else has said. there is the COWOA add on for zencart (Checkout without an account to give it it's long name.) I installed it and it works a treat. Again I would also suggest the PayPal express option if you intend to use PayPal as a payment option.

My programmers are fully committed on the Zen cart route unfortunately. Maybe on the next (and there will be one) site.
