I'm looking to start selling products from my current running website. I've read over plenty of threads regarding different shopping carts etc... and have come to the conclusion that CubeCart may be the best for me.

For those with experience, is CubeCart easy to use/incorporate/set up within my current running website?

I'm got basic/mediocre knowledge of web design and uploading files.

Any feedback would be brilliant, many thanks in advance.

Hi Joe,

You may have made your final decision to go for cube cart, in case you haven't and are open to considering other solutions which could be more cost effective when it comes to adding a store to your current website, please take a look at our ecommerce plugin solution. With the level of skill you say you are at, it would be straight forward for you to add it to your existing site without a great deal of change to what you already have.

You can plugin powerful ecommerce features in to your website by copying and pasting the auto generated ecommerce plug-in code text in to your web pages. This gives you a low cost solution with little maintenance on your part, free automatic upgrades to the latest version ensuring you have access to the newest features.

Your Shop Integrator shopping basket embeds itself in your current website and your shoppers use your Pay Pal account to take your customer's order debit/credit or Pay Pal payments at the final checkout stage. Have you thought about which payment gateway you plan to use? If you're not sure about who to use, this gives you a high level summary of why you might want to use Pay Pal (http://www.shopintegrator.com/payme...pt-debit-credit-card-and-paypal-payments.html). Not knowing what products you are selling, their value or your turnover means I can't say if its suitable or not for you.

I have used cubecart in the past and it had quite a few paid mods, but I found it really easy to use and I liked it, so don't think you will have any major problems.

However I won't use them again in the short term as it is expensive to buy a licence when you can get zen cart for free.

I use and develop for CubeCart (versions 3 & 4).

The cost of license should not be a barrier to anyone serious about running an online store.

For me, the main advantages are;
-3rd party security audited (I'm not away of any free open source carts that have this - simply due to the costs involved)

-Easy Template system, with CSS/XHTML based modular template system.

-Good support forums, and wide selection of 3rd party code. (commerical or free).

I currently offer CC4 to my clients, and none have problems managing their store.

Joe, CubeCart4 has a 30-day free trial. Its probably worth evaluating it - if you have time. I can also provide a trial-install if you would like a basic install of the software to play with for a few days.

Regards,
Jason

We have been selling CC4 since its release. Making skins and mods is easy enough.

Cost wise it's next to nothing when you compare it to what you are getting. Don't forget if you ever have any problems CubeCart support is on hand.

If you want a CC4 license at a reduced rate drop me a PM as we do get discount on licenses. We also bundle a license within a monthly hosting package so at the end of the 12 months the license ownership is transferred to you so there isn't a large upfront cost to get started.

How do you get a discount? I've been with CubeCart since very early CC3 days and are not aware of any discount deals?
I'll contact Al at Devilion tomorrow and see how this works?

Back to the OP, there are 2 main forums;
cubecart
cubecartforums

The former is for people just starting out, so useful for basic support. The latter is for 3rd party "add-ons", with many developers touting for work.

It looks like this forum is the place for business advice, but for technically discussions regarding cubecart, one of the above will provide informed answers.

Jason

Hi,

I use CC and have done for many years, I also recommend this to my clients wishing to host with us, its so easy to use and updates are regular, support is also great through both CC and forums.

There are many options available to you each have there good and bad i guess, cubecart has pretty much everything already and they are still improving it.

Good luck.

We have used several carts & found cube cart to be the best.
The support is very good, there is a great community of ppl out there on the forums to help with almost anything & the paid for work we have had done is very reasonable.

Its not difficult to use & learn. Its also very SEO friendly.
If you have any questions post away or PM me

I have been using cubecart for over 4 years now personaly and professionaly, however the one shopping cart that is getting international popularity, is free and open source is Prestashop.

I am doing more work with this shopping cart as it has a lot of free mods and gives me a lot of what I am looking for. It seems to be growing frommstrength to strength. I love the fact that it is modular so upgrading the core software is easy on new revisions which is something that you can not do with cubecart that has been heavily modded.
