As many of you know my passion is my vending machine that i am designing.

I am looking into funding like Kickstarter and Seedrs etc and when i look at all the other businesses that have got their funding i just think: Why would anybody invest in a new vending concept?

I am devoted to what i do and i love what i do but is vending seen as boring as investments go?

Would i be wasting my time with such a thing?

Or is it a case of it being a good investment opportunity then people will go for it?

Vending machines are everywhere and they dispense all manner of goods. My gym has a machine that sells protein powders that people just add water to, I have seen them selling umbrellas. The ones at uni pump out snacks and drinks.

I guess there is money in it but it depends on your product and placement

You have been looking at social lenders, which tend to lean towards creative or social projects

Traditional equity financiers are far more commercial and look at returns and potential rather than innovation. Take a look at Crowdcube

Unless it does it better, cheaper, faster, more-securely, etc
than any of the hundreds of existing types of machines, then yes.

If however you've solved a 'problem' then maybe not.

Well it's a product not sold through vending machines mainly because it's so delicate. One company has tried but failed by using packaging for the glowsticks, however the packaging cost more than the product itself!

My way uses no packaging, it's the only machine of it's type, it will be a cheap machine to build (good quality though) with a few innovative features.

The only other machine that comes close is a machine that vends only glowsticks (6inch) but with packaging. Mine will also vend glow bracelets, glasses and necklaces with zero packaging and no risk of activating the glowstick before it is delivered to the customer.

I personally wouldn't invest on Seedrs. I definitely wouldn't give money to a for profit organisation on Kickstarter, can't think of anything more stupid.

I would however (and do) invest money on crowdcube. There is a major difference between Seedrs and Crowdcube....

.... On Seedrs you are purchasing 'units' in a fund, the shares get purchased and are owned by Seedrs and they take a place on the board I believe.

On Crowdcube investors get actual equity (with a share certificate and their name registered as a shareholder at companies house). If they buy A shares they get the chance to attend AGMs and vote.

If I wanted my money managed by a third party I'd invest in a fund of some sort or employ a financial advisor to manage my affairs. Crowdcube is genuine private investment for equity.

Kickstarter is a terrible idea. What reward would you give me for £100 of my money? Some glowsticks? I would rather give £100 to some low budget feature film and get a signed copy of the DVD and a limited edition print.

Crowdcube is the only attractive option out there at current for UK investors.
