As part of our (mobile application development) company life, we attend quite a few social events such as Meetups, trade show, etc.
Each time we collect a few business cards, potential customers, useful technical contacts, some random people, etc. We send an email to the most interesting ones and keep the other business cards in some folders.
Now we have quite a few of those cards and we would like to send an update to all those people we met, maybe once every 3 months or something, using their email addresses.
What I would like to find is some software that helps me to save, keep those emails addresses and retrieve blocks of them instantly depending on different queries/criteria. All French contacts, all contacts made in 2012, all restaurant owners, etc.
I could have a big excel spreadsheet with a few columns, one row per contact and a few sorting options. That would work but surely they are more robust free options out there?
What software would you recommend? If it could be web-based or cross-OS, that would be great!
Another great feature is if the retrieved addresses for our queries could be exported in some easy-to-use format. So the focus here is really on being able to save and retrieve blocks of emails addresses.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
