Create new landing page or update old one?

If I have some seasonal content (eg "best places to travel in 2017"), should I update that landing page to become "2018" or create a new landing page (so there will be 2 landing pages in total)?

I'd be tempted to update the existing page, as you will benefit from inbound links and so on to the current page.

One question though, does the URL contain 2017 in it?

Yes it does have 2017 in the URL although I can change the URL and do a redirect so anyone who searches the old URL is taken to the new URL.

I agree with Mattk, I'd update the existing pages and then do as you've suggested, create a redirect to the new 2018 url.

Instead of changing the 2017 seasonal content, it would be better if you can create a new page along with the old one. Because you are going to establish your page with many related pages in the future.

I think that update the old page is a better solution.

If your old page already ranked in SERP, it's hard for new page rank in the similar keyword
