Hi there,
I have been self employed for some time now. My tax return is always quite simple, I do it all myself without the help of an accountant. Each year, within a few hundred, I charge the same amount and my expenses are the only thing that seem to go up and down, but not by a lot at all.
Thanks to catching covid earlier this year, I had to self isolate and was therefore entitled to a £500 Self Isolation Payment from my local council. This went part way to replacing my lost earnings during this time.
I understand that this money needs to be recorded on my tax return but I am unsure where I would record it as I have never had anything like this before. Can anyone help? I have plenty of time as this falls under the 21-22 financial year, so I am not in a rush.
Thanks in advance for any help.
