99% of our orders are shipped via Royal Mail, however once in a blue moon we need to ship liquids weighing about 4-6 kg to Europe and sometimes other parts of the world. The issue i have is that all of the courier companies seem to prohibit liquids for their insurance. The only one i have found who doesn't appears to be Parcelforce but they do prohibit it for none UK shipments. Any ideas who i can use?
After a few episodes with DPD damaging parcels i need to be protected.

Thanks But TNT list liquids as a prohibited item in fact there list is so extensive it might as well just say gas, liquid or solid. I know they and all the couriers carry these items every day without an issue. The problem is when they damage the parcel and you try and make a claim.

If you want to drop me a pm or are happy to say here what liquids you want shipping and how they packaged, I can check with our agent if they do international. We use them for shipping liquids in the UK for a fulfilment customer at a very good price. The parcels are not insured for liquid damage but there is a small surge charge for "fragile" so they take much more care and so far so good.

Thanks owas,
Its manly liquid soap, nothing special corrosive or toxic. For years we have used Royal Mail with out a single issue of damage. Parcelforce have been ok. But DPD seem to go out of their way to damage parcels. We are more than happy to use Royal Mail but you cant ship anything over 2kg internationally with them and the issues we have had with DPD makes me very unhappy not to be covered when the courier damages the parcel.

You could try the pallet networks( put it on a pallet) or Davis Turner
Try to avoid agencies or resellers and speak to the companies direct so that you can get accurate info and no middlemen loading their profit

Thanks Jeremy but it would be over kill to put it on a pallet. Its becoming a pet hate looking at how couriers offer insurance but when you actually look at there T&C's you find almost everything is excluded. DPD realy p****d me off when they actually showed me the drivers report say he dropped the parcel which damaged it and then refused my claim and then tried to charge me for damage to their van and other parcels. I obviously no longer use them and now put almost every thing through Royal Mail which other than the cost for large parcels are very good.

We ship hazardous liquids with TNT, though they're controlled under the LQ guidelines. I can't recall them ever damaging a shipment though, so we've never actually tried to claim. We're also shipping in UN packaging, in reasonably heavy duty cardboard boxes so maybe we're just not seeing the problem..

Thanks BeMarketed however APC only carry liquids on a No Compensation items basis. UPS and Fedex look more promising. Unfortunately if you book a UPS collection via parcel2go etc. Liquids are then excluded (probably automatically by parcel to go).
