Council tax

Hi, I would like to know what the situation with council tax is when a shop is closed down, I have been given 6 months tax free but then it will be half price for an empty property charge , at the moment it is very hard to get someone in and paying any bills for nothing is hard.

Is there someway of getting no c.tax on an empty property legally.

Council tax does not apply. I suspect that you are talking about business rates. The best people to ask is the local council. They will not only know what exemptions that MAY apply to your area/property, they also have some discretion to not charge.

Yes you are right it will be business rates, shop is empty and cannot afford to pay any more bills

I have come accross something called a "meanwhile lease" , can I apply this to my situation untill a proper paying tenant is found?
