Council industrial unit application - rent offer & rent free period?

Hi,

I have viewed a council industrial unit for my new business and I need to submit an application form to the council to apply for it.

In the form it asks what is the rental offer I want to make and also how much rent free period I want to request. I have never made such applications to council before so I don't how far I can push with these two? What is the reasonable rental free period to ask for and what percentage of the asking rent should be reasonable for me to offer?

I have seen a few units in my area i need to apply for they have been empty for a while as well not sure what offers can be made if someone has gone through this i would be interested to know as well...

Just for the benefit of others who might be in a similar situation I thought I would post an update. I offered 2 months rent free period but eventually ended up agreeing 6 weeks with them along with a small rent reduction. I think a good result in the end.
