Could online games help sell my products...?

Hi,

I am thinking of having an online game developed to help promote and sell my childrens (5 to 12yrs) swimming products.

I have had a few prices based on my own game design brief.

The game would incorporate my products into the game play and promote my brand.

Has anyone else used online games to promote there brand / products etc....?

I know that children email each other game links and talk online......so could it work?

Hi Dave,

I have lately watched TV commercials - specifically children's shoes are now utilising on-line games too further promote their brand and products. I think one is called Trackers.

Anything can work its about protecting children on-line - how would you safeguard them?

I apologise Dave,

I thought the game would be like a multi-player game where you generate a community of gamers, this concept would require safeguards for participating children.

But as I now observe from your example - a single player game then there is no need for safeguards.

You could also introduce a points system in the game - opening new challenges - giving specific tasks to complete and reward your customers with special discounts or other affiliated offers, just a thought.

Find a flash artist on there that you like and approach them.

The only one I know is egoraptor (very funny) he might be able to put something together that isn't rude

Miniclip.com do bespoke games design but i think they're very expensive, i tried contacting them about a game for a charity and they never got back to me, think we were too small fry.

Yeah those guys are a big ol' company.

The beauty of newgrounds is that the programmers/designers do it for fun, are mostly still in school and have no idea what they're worth

I think they would be thrilled just to be *considered* to design a cool game for kids.
