After a hectic week and facing more hectic times ahead with a large project and marketing push coming up, it is nice to get my head around an interesting business problem that someone else is having - but this forum is getting a bit boring TBH.

I mean - it's all SEO questions, followed by yet another brain-dead idea for the High Street, or yet another daft website idea, all garnished with a never-ending stream of business failures and daft people posting when the bailiffs are already at the door.

Couldn't we have a question from someone with a thriving business in exploding cats, or something like that, who wants to know the best way to start a franchise for exploding cats - something interesting for a change?

To be honest, most exploding cat businesses are struggling these days - I think they've finally found a way to make cats that don't explode.

Maybe someone should set up an 'interesting business ideas that don't bore the pants off people' franchise club though - perhaps you could start one?

Never mind exploding cats, or flying cats, come to that - can we have a business question that is not the same old guff about falling out with people, yet another brainless and pointless website idea, search engine optimisation, yet another pointless High Street store, yet another failed business that was doomed to failure in the first place and daft postings from people who are unable to face up to their legal obligations?

People will only ask serious business questions when they are stuck on something they cant answer themselves. For most people that is not a daily event and if we relied on that then the forum would be dead. (This forum would become just a problem page)

There are a few interesting things going in business in general which have been discussed to see if there is anything we can learn from. (P4U going bust, Apples PR nightmare etc).

Speaking of cats, there is a large black and white one that's suddenly appeared near me. It clearly doesn't seem to like me because it's been stalking me for over a week now and he's getting closer every day. Good businesses are often very boring at first sight. I tire of young people coming to me for advice on a career in something 'exciting' like record producer or film director, journalist or sports star.

I agree that the interesting threads have been few and far between. I used to spend most of my time in the SEO section but the amount of threads that get posted about exactly the same thing ten times over and all of the generic replies drive me potty so i stay out of it mostly.
