I'm a lone shark here in deep water..

Launched many things before, none succesful apart from a blog which I ended up having to sell because of a move of hometown.

So now I'm back on track and have started the site in my signature and I'm looking some input from you friendly folks and whether you think it's potentially great or potentially a flop?

Cheers all.

Just being honest here, but it sounds like what you are offering is a more expensive version of Wordpress.com, with a logo.

I guess it all depends on who your market is if they will buy it or not, but like I say it seems just like a packaged up version of free software that has already been packaged up. Feel free to correct me of course, if that's not your aim then I'm happy to look from another perspective :)

PS. I never understood the requirement for Roboform when good browsers have syncronised password+personal data+form filling features/management built in.

You take it everywhere with you on a USB stick.

In regards of the service.. it's on their own domain.. with hosting.. a logo and unique design catered to their needs. Of course the design isn't an expensive one but it includes the colours they want, pages they need and all essential plugins. Plus a framework that I have dev licence to but not all clients will get that.

Same with Opera, or sync to "the cloud" (eugh I hate that term). Anyway...

Fair enough, that makes it a bit more clear.

In that case, you could be onto something, not something that's going to make millions, but something. The way your site read, it was just a fixed package with a custom logo and a set of plugins installed. I would suggest making your website read more along the lines of "Fully customised & hosted blog for £40", rather than a few plugins.

Ensure you get across the point that it is customised per person, different plugins are installed per requirement and the full design is custom, not just the logo!

It's not a 'great' idea, the domain registration is going to cost you £6-9 out of that.

What's the target market? I'd have thought it's quite small finding someone who is willing to pay but not very much.

That's what I'm thinking but there is a target market there. It does exist.

It's just whether or not it will sell.

I'll give it a whizz and see what happens.

If not I'll try it from a different angle.

I'm also doing 10quidlogos :D

All an experiment and thanks for your input.

Hmm classified ads or sell them direct from eBay?

I'm wondering who would even be searching on ebay for blog/web design?

direct from ebay. People do. I have met many small companies that bought their website from someone from ebay. After all it's just another channel of distribution or advertising. The sort of customer you'll be targetting is likely to search for something like that on ebay trust me.
