Corporate Gift Hampers

Hi I have recently started a gift hamper company and am looking forward to Christmas! I am after some advice as to how best approach companies to offer my services for their Christmas gifts? Do companies still send gift hampers at Christmas? When would they normally start looking for a supplier? What kind of service would make me stand out to them? Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Hi,

I have recently been involved in a startup that specialises in hampers, so have spent alot of time in this area.

People do still send them out, but not as much as they used to, as with wholsesalers offering hampers people have the option of buying them in bulk and can send them themselves, however..... this can also be a huge waste of time!

It also varies hugely on the company your sending from and to.

Who is supplying the contents, most big corporates will want something with their own logo inside or a gift made especially for them - is this something you can provide? This can be a costly and massively time consuming affair if you havent done it before, and bigger companies will want things done for a pittence.

When i had my business i would start looking around November, and look to get everything posted out by the 15th December the latest.

Maybe you could offer a service that you create the hamper and post directly to their client or whoever is recieving it, and a way for them to track it, so all they have to do is look at your website, order, then they will be notified when its been delivered.

Eyecatching packaging is a must, and if your are sending cellophane hampers, get them into a nice box, something that people look at and are intrigued and want to open to see whats inside.

Offer the option of completely bespoke hampers, but you will have to charge more, as they will always be more hassle then the off the shelf hampers you have, and explain to corporates that you can present their gifts in a really attractive way for them and you will take care of all the shipping etc.

hope thats been of help
