I have doen a few imports in the past but all via DHL. This time I want to do a container to the UK, but I have a few Questions, this is what I currently understand.
I will agree with the seller a price. I think i might go for FOB which may be more expensive but at least the products will make it to the UK. But which port would be the best? I am currently in Birmingham.
Second stage will be all the Duty and tax that I need to pay. I quite confortable with that and have spoken to a few people. If i can get a good price from a shipping agent I will use them.
Once the container has cleard the UK ports I need to get it to destination location. Here is where my problem is. I need a location to store the products. The products will come on pallets so I will need a forklift. How long do I have the container or does it need to be unloaded straight away before the truck will leave?
Does anyone know and good trustworthy shipping agents in the UK? Also a location within Birmingham Ideally where i would be able to store directly from the container?
