Above all, don't churn out lists and be very careful not to dilute your core offering with side-distractions.

It might do. It depends as @Mark T Jones said on how you do it.

If you have a site selling flowers then adding vases and decorations makes sense.

If you sell bricks then adding cement makes sense.

If you sell scaffold boards and add crowd barriers it makes less sense and will confuse Google.

If you're looking for sales via osmosis, you are far better off sending people to your existing eCommerce site. A good image of what you sell and a button that says 'Buy your xxxxxxx supplies here' or similar.

Can you give us an idea what the related products are?

Depending on just how "Related" they actually are it could either work to your benefit, or it may weaken your website, in which case you would be better off building a separate website for them and link to it from your main website.

Perhaps creating a separate but linked product section to showcase the related products if they're related products to your services? I think clear navigation and internal linking will help guide users between your services/products.

You could just have a "shop" link which takes you to an online shop website that's branded just like the main one. This is the sort of thing we've done loads of times so give us a shout if you'd like us to do it.

It depends on how you present the products. If they complement your building services, like tools or materials, it could enhance your offering. Just make sure the focus remains clear, and consider creating a separate section for products to avoid confusing your visitors.
