Hey guys we have started a company for industrial and commercial clients. We have inquired about subcontracting for various big companys. I have been requested to fill in PQQ from alot of the companys, they also are asking for construction line, CHAS, SSIP. Can anyone recommend which over these is most usefull? We dont have a huge budget at the mo, so dont want to join any that are not beneficial.

thanks

Generally if you have CHAS or Constructline it at least makes you appear more serious, though some firms insist on it. I don't know what SSIP is. We did CHAS for a couple of years but dropped it because it involves a fair amount of paperwork and I just didn't have the time. If I was going to look at it again I would look at Constructionline first in case it is any easier or cheaper.

On a related issue, we spent ages and ages getting on as many preferred supplier lists as possible (we are a specialist subcontractor). It turned out to be all a waste of time. We got not a jot if work through it.

Chas and constructionline are different things, chas is to prove you have all the relavent health and saftey paperwork and procedures in place and are being followed (others available such as safecontractor) and constructionline is helps simplify the procurement process of tendering for projects. If money is a issue i would go for sorting health and saftey first.
