I'm contemplating getting a van for our business however the van will not be used a great deal so we're thinking about getting something that doubles up.
We have come up with two possibilities:
1. We could do with replacing our family car so one option is to buy a Chrysler Voyager which has removable seats revealing a van like carrying capacity. This would be a private purchase and we would just claim expenses through the company i.e fuel.
2. We would also benefit from having a horse box for transporting my daughters horse to shows. Obviously a horse box has a large load capicity and will be ample for business use too. We are looking at a lwb van conversion rather than a full blown lorry sized thing! However neither the van or the horsebox would see a great deal of use so could just end up sitting in the yard for weeks on end. We could hire it out though, going rate seems to be about £100 per day, just debating the viability of this, could be a money spinner at best or at least off set our costs.
