I'm currently forming a private limited company, and as a sole director I need to find someone to fill the role of company secretary.

I've been looking at the secretarial services offered online, and to be honest I find it all very confusing! Is anyone able to help me out with the following questions:

In practise, what does a company secretary need to do?
Can you reccomend any good secretarial services?
How have you approached a similar problem?

Any help would be really appreciated. If any of you offer this service, feel free to PM me with offers too.

Kind Regards,

James

Hi James, Most of the SME's I work for have a habit of the MD choosing their partner as secretary. Though it is a matter of just making sure that all documents and legal accounts are in place and rules and regulations are followed, your secretary has the ability to out view on most issues at meetings etc. Your secretary can also decide that a new MD is needed!! ( Not good in cases of relationship breakdown really) I would advise talking to your accountant as most will be able to both be your companys secretary and the registered address of the company! If your accountant doesnt offer this service try this chap he's great. K Hughes - www.phoenixaudit.com. You won't find a better person for the job.
