Hi,

I'm thinking of setting up a new company. However, that name is already taken. But, that company has submitted a proposal to strike off.

I believe that company will therefore be dissolved in a matter of months, so my question is, as soon as it is dissolved, will that company name become available for use for a new company?

You might want to investigate why an application for striking off has been made. Has the company decided it no longer wants to be an Ltd and applied themselves? Or has companies house not received accounts and has applied?

Does the company have a bad reputation and will you be inheriting that reputation?

Also, why buy into the potential grief. You could have debtors chasing you for money the previous company owed, and each time you have to prove to them its not your debt. Some of these debt chasing companies don't tend to listen too well.

I think that you mean creditors! You've got this the wrong way round in a few posts! :)
