Commission based lead generation required

Hi All,

I am currently running a small web design/development business and am looking to increase the amount of work I am getting.

I am looking for a young lead generation expert who would be happy to work on commission.

Anyone know of any companies/good places to find part-time lead generators (I'm thinking students/recent grads due to it being commission based)?

    I think you will struggle with trying to get a 'young' (read inexperienced) person who has both sales skills and a good enough knowledge of graphic design and back end development to sell your service.

    There are people out there who will work on commission only but most will expect to be paid extremely well for their knowledge and experience.

    With design and web services unless you are offering a premium service you are unlikely to be able to offer commission rates attractive enough for commission only sales.

    What training are you going to provide them with?
    Have you put together a sales package with commission rates?
    How many website packages would they have to sell to say make 750 - 1000 a week or more in commission ?
    What pipeline have you established for leads?
    Do you have the capacity to develop websites at the rate needed for your sales person to make a decent commission.

    Reflecting the above, self employed sales can be very productive in certain environments, but it wont work where you are using it as an excuse to avoid the job yourself

    At this stage of your business, it should be you who is out there doing the selling, not only do you have the greatest passion/knowledge about what you do, but getting out selling will teach you a lot about who your prospective clients are and what their needs and expectations are.

    You're probably right to be honest...I guess at this stage it may be better for me to be calling the companies and doing all the leg work myself. I have a program that pulls in companies from directories with their websites and numbers etc. and my plan was to check the websites that it provides and then to target the companies with outdated sites that aren't responsive etc. My debate is now is what the best way of sending them a proposal is i.e. is email better than cold calling for this sort of thing?

    I think before you approach people it would be better to identify the sort of customers most likely to buy your service and why they should buy from you rather than your competitors .

    You're likely to be better to specialise in a niche where you have expertise that gives you a competitive edge

    Up until this point, my niche has been building affordable websites for small businesses and capitalising on the fact that small businesses know that they need a strong web presence but often get put off by high quotes and don't have the time nor skills to do it themselves.

    It sounds like you don't yet have a marketing plan. I think you need to do some market research and once you have identified target customers you can look at the best channels to reach them on and offline and what content you need.


    If you are looking to meet clients you need to increase your costs to cover this.
