I recently had a call from a paper that I advertised in last year, it wasn't effective, so I declined the offer this time.

So imagine my surprise when a 'Paid' invoice came through the door!

They obviously had kept my details on the system, and decicded that they would not take 'no' for an answer - and carried on anyway.

I have just got off the phone from the paper concerned. I was initially passed from pillar ot post, with the managing director at first claiming to have nothing to do with that paper - and then conceding that she was the director!

She 'looked into it' and came back (quickly - give her that) saying that they had taken payment for the previous year, and that I was lucky I was given an invoice at all.

A year before taking payment? I did quiz her, and she accused me of being rude! lol! I told her I would consult my records, as I had only one advertisment with them, and considered a year a long time for them to wait for payment.

Records consulted, previous years advert was paid for and invoice received a few weeks after being taken out. So I think the call I had on the 10th that i declined, which ironically was when they took payment for 'last year' has more to do with it than an old advert.

Either way, I only authorised one and that was paid for. Anything else is just dodgy! I have written to her and will see what she says.
