CMS and SEO

Well, I'm telling you.. I am an SEO expert in profession, <comment removed by mod>

Do you know who is Matt Cutts? maybe you need to read his blog post here, mattcutts.com/blog/keywords-meta-tag-in-web-search/ and also the thing about meta keywords has already been settled in the SEOmoz. Oh, maybe you also don't know that site either.. And to feed your minds further, the meta keywords were important factor way back in '90's , but the algorithm evolved and it moved into consideration the Contents, backlinks, then again evolved that those backlinks need to be in highPR, and again evolved, and needs the backlink must be from a trusted site, and your content must be very informative, etc.. it is like 10-20 factors in determining your SERP to 200 determinative factors.

I've conduct my own research months ago, and if you want the search engines know what your website is all about, keywords must be included in the website's content, and Title. That's more proper. Search engines will look first on your content, analyze the content's keyword in relation with your meta title, and then index and cache you. And if you will tell that this is only for Google.. well think again, do you know that Bing copies Google's search results by collecting Windows' user data (especially on I.E users)? and as a matter of Yahoo.. well there's a secret thing to rank on their search, but I won't tell you that. lol.

And don't you spy on your competitor's keywords when you do a keyword research? Well, seems freaky but almost all of SEO experts do that.. we first see what are the authority keywords of the ranking competitors. Then, seek for an unlooked golden keywords that not yet dominated by them to generate flagship traffic around that search term, then go to the main if you already started ranking within the search term sphere of your main keyword. It is a pain if you will directly attack the main keyword, the proper strategy is to build authority on the sphere of that keyword before attacking it. But of course, that's not mean that you will copy in verbatim your competitors keyword... there must still be a keyword research done.

Well, that's all for now.. still in doubt? well, it is not my loss nor gain.

I stated that the lesser known search engines, etc still consider them which they do, your link mattcutts.com/blog/keywords-meta-tag-in-web-search/ is about Google no longer considering them which is also true.

I didn't state that SEOs don't analyse on competitors...of course they do to guage the strength of competition. It's part of the competition research phase. But by stating that competitors might see your keywords from the meta keywords you seem to imply that this would form the crux of their own keyword research which isn't true, simply because it is named "keywords" thus implying that they don't know where else to look. We can, indeed, look at the title tag and see which keywords are being targeted but this isn't a reason to leave out meta keywords which can still provide a benefit, be it arguably minor, in terms of SEO.

If this is a debate about costs-benefits of adding meta keywords then I would argue that it is still worth adding them based on the fact that some search engines, etc still consider them, especially considering the ease at which modern content management systems allow their addition.
