Closing a LTD company

Hi all,

I can see this topic has been posted quite a number of times, however I still haven't found a definitive answer that relates to my circumstance.

I registered a LTD company in 2019; registered a bank account and deposited £2,000 of my own money (as a director to company loan). The company never traded, nothing was ever bought with this money and earlier in the year I returned the untouched £2,000 to myself (as per the terms of my loan agreement) in around May of this year. There is currently approximately £0.70 sitting in the company bank account which was presumably accrued via interest.

I now want to close down the company as I have no further intention to pursue the business.

I understand that form DS01 exists, but due to having had money go through the account, I am assuming it's not going to be quite as straight forward as just filling in one of those forms. I have never submit any accounts to HMRC; the company was automatically registered for corporation tax (?and VAT), so I am unsure of what I need to do moreso on the HMRC side of things.

Any help is much appreciated.

Did you inform HMRC that your company is Dormant/Non trading ?

Did you receive notice to file your tax retun ? If answer to this question is yes, then you must file Dormant set of accounts and NIL CT600.

I've received notification to complete the annual statement, which is what's prompted me to look at closing it down. I've not been requested to submit a tax return as of yet though, and I've never contacted HMRC about the status (lack thereof) of trading.
