I've never imported before, but would like to I had arranged to have a sample sent, with the mind of then spending 7,000 GBP on goods.

The company details they sent for payment I then Googled and found it's the same address as the company mentioned here http://alibabafraud.blogspot.com/201...people-as.html

They seemed very genuine and are this company on Alibaba - http://activeinc.en.alibaba.com/

I just don't get it, everything seems 100% legit until I got there details for a bank transfer.

If everything is this legit, then how can you ever tell?

Sorry, still not sure what you are asking. Why do you think they are not legit?

(But I am not in any way suggesting you should pay anyone by bank transfer)

They sent me the bank details, with the Payee address so I Googled it and it's on the link I provided.

It's also a flat in a building for the bank transfer.

Be VERY careful. A lot of scammers on Alibaba. You can get an agent to check out the company. I have found that a lot of these 'company's' are either scammers, or people who operate from their bedrooms!

If you have friends in Xiamen, then ask them for help to pay a visit to the factory. Or ask whether the supplier would like to offer some customers in UK for your reference. But usually they do not want to offer, since it is related with business confidential.

I think the first thing i'd be asking to see would be confirmation of their license agreements with Disney. Do you know how much those things cost!! You can't afford that when you operate out of a flat.

I think there should be trustship between humans.

After several month of emailing & phoning, my Australian client finally place a sample order to me and made the payment days ago. Although the order amount not big, I get the friendship from him and also I believe we will establish long relations.

As long as we treat honestly to each other, the business will be smooth...

Actually I have...I have worked with a number of people overseas and this works for me...its not just to reduce the risk but also to build better understanding..

Get a professional agent is really helpful and productive.
