I have a cleaning business. I have just got a lady to join me on a self employed basis. What I need to no, is there an agreement form that I should be getting her to sign? And where would I find a form. Also I have a cleaning agreement form that I downloaded from lawdebot where it says contractor. Do I put my name with business name or her name with my business name. Thanks

Hi Jackie

Is that the Cleaning Services Agreement you've downloaded? I had a quick look and that's a contract between the cleaner and the client i.e. the person who you will be providing cleaning services to, so your business would be the 'contractor'.

As to the lady who has joined you - it would be prudent to have some form of written agreement setting out the terms of the relationship between you and her setting out the basic things such as her rates, payment terms, obligations of both parties etc.

Hi Jackie

There are any number of online legal template providers who offer contracts for self-employed contractors (including the one from which you downloaded the cleaning contract). Are you absolutely sure that the lady working with you will really be operating as 'self-employed' rather than as a casual worker?

Yes. She wanted so many hours. So I have found her the clients and she has arranged and met them. Payment comes to me then I pay her. Spoke to self assessment department and they said she will have to register for self assessment as a sole trader which this has been made clear to her

That's good. You could have a look at the free Independent Contractor Agreement at Lawdepot (since you've got their other legal contract template). It's pretty basic but it may suit your purpose - you'll need to read it through and decide if it would work for you.
