CIS deduction error from previous tax year

Following the retirement of our previous book-keeper I've recently taken over our payroll and have found an error dating from the 2014-15 tax year. During that year we worked for one company who deducted some CIS payments from us and we still have £149.31 that our previous book-keeper hasn't claimed back via PAYE.

Can I reclaim it somehow or are we out of luck now that it's a new tax year?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if I can file an EPS submission as our previous book-keeper used Sage up until I took over in December. I'm now using Moneysoft so it only has the figures for this year, and I'm not sure if it can file updates. Would I have to do an EYU through the HMRC Basic Tools?

It's not an EYU it's an EPS, which can be filed at any time. I know that Moneysoft doesn't do EYUs but it should be able to do an EPS. The problem is that you might have to set up the year 2014-15 in order to file the submission (I can't comment on practicalities of using the software)and you might question if it's worth all the faffing about for the money concerned. Only you can make that call.

It was not a straight forward case with mine, I had cis sitting in different accounts and has been in the process of getting sorted for over 12 months.
The account number for last year is different to this year and my accountant has been communicating with the hmrc so I can only assume it has been agreed

Thanks to David & Kevin for your advice. It appears that I can file an EPS for a previous tax year through Moneysoft, which is good news. Do I just input the overpaid amount on the revised EPS to be added to the previous one or do I put in the CIS figure for the whole year to supercede the previous EPS in full?

Also what happens once the EPS is filed, will HMRC let me take the overpaid amount off this month's PAYE automatically or do I need to contact HMRC to request a refund. I've tried researching it but again have seen conflicting advice.
