Very much depends on what you want to do with it :p

    What are your career aspirations?

Getting a professional Accountancy qualification (of any brand) is worth it - just look at the typical earnings for a qualified accountant.

However your choice of qualification would depend on what you want to do as each has a different focus - do you want to work in practice or industry. Remember what ever one you choose does not exclude you working in either area.

I'm not going to comment on which is best (don't want to start a war)

Also CIMA courses depend whether you want home-study or class-room... and of course your location.

Further to that can be the style that suits you so it's something I would recommend either going to training centres to get a feel for what appeals to you, or having a look at course material and samples from distance education courses.

Thought i would give you my opinion :D

Basically if your after working in industry then CIMA is the way to go

if you would like practise then ACCA is the way to go,

if you want basic accountancy without the pressure/stress then AAT is a good one

Again same as has already been mentioned it depends what you are after in your career

Hope it helps and sorry to all the accountants on here if my info is a little incorrect  (i have been led to believe this is the case) :)

I and many others wouldn't necessarily agree.

IMO there are many good Institute's out there for practice including ACA :D (the best!!)

Starts bun fight and stands well back :p:p:p:p

for practise = ACA (for Elaine) ACCA, FCCA (same as ACCA but a bit posher :p)

for industry = CIMA (apologise all you industry people i only know CIMA) please feel free to add

    for less stress = AAT/CAT
