We make ours - it's amazing what you can achieve with stuff that costs you absolutely nothing.
Now's a great time to go out collecting fircones - there's still loads of them about and they look great either au naturel or painted with glitter on them, really nice, you can put them onto ribbon with a glue gun and hang them like a garland, or use garden wire to make your own wreaths - lovely with red ribbon, acorns etc.
Logs are also good for using as props, you can peel the bark off and paint them or leave them as they are.
Suppose it's easier for me as I'm surrounded by paints, glitters etc and love making things anyway, but it is easily do-able and won't cost you anything like the amount you'd pay for something ready made.

I'd like to try and do something with a little more impact this year. We have lights both inside and outside, but our disadvantage is that we are set back from the road with our car park at the front, so we need to do all we can to attract peoples attention.

Is your car park big enough for a Christmas tree? Could work as an attraction?

Or can you offer a space or two or your car park to be used as a santa grotto, come December? Put the word out that its available for free and someone might take you up on it?

Yes, I had a Christmas tree in mind - it would look lovely. We had the car park blockpaved last year, as previously it was covered in a mish-mash of odd bits of tarmac with potholes here and there. Was a nightmare getting it done, but sooooo worth it!

Our only problem is that unfortunately, we are situated next to the local kebab shop, which is frequented by yobs late at night, so I wonder whether a tree might get vandalised. We used to have a flag on the wall above the door of the shop which was nicked a month ago

Here's a pic (if this works!)

Ta Da!!!! Made from wooden blocks, using papers, bit of paint, some stamping, glitter, glue, printed out sentiments using the laptop .... they will look nice in the window, plus we will sell them as gifts and are running a workshop to show people how to make it themselves.

We also do lots of decs that are used by shops.

Making them yourself sounds fun but only if your efforts look half decent. Mine wouldn't!

Your shop looks really good, have bookmarked it! Thinking about what I'm going to do! I like the snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. I have spiders at the moment from my led's (low-ish ceiling) and they look good. Want to do same with snowflakes ;)
