Christmas Tree Sales

Having the opportunity to use an area in a busy shopping area over Christmas I am considering selling real Christmas Trees just on the weekends in the run up until Christmas, maybe offering an optional delivery service.

Now I know absolutely nothing about trees let alone Christmas Trees but am thinking it may be a nice opportunity to meet local residents and other business owners and earn a little Christmas bonus.

Obviously the area needs to be checked to see if there is a regular Christmas Tree supplier who pops up each year. And then there's sourcing the trees themselves. But there's got to be more to it than that surely?

So any feedback hints/tips regarding Christmas Trees would be great. And also were do you buy yours and for how much?

Thanks in advance :)

Where in Liverpool?

Do you have transport for the trees?

Dependant on your location your fees may outweight the potential profit involved as its expensive to rent anywhere on the main stretch in Liverpool city center.

Heres a little thought, at Xmas there are alot of 'street sellers' - You know the type, they have a little log cabin and mainly sell things most seen in a forgeign market - They make a killing I bet, during the year so would do well in December - Have you thought about this line of work? I always thought selling roast chestnuts would go down well, especially if you can offer 'modern' varietys.

I will give them a bell thanks. I have sourced a few suppliers for trees so am thinking to stock the average size people want....which is basically the how long is a piece of string question. Personally I would say the average height of a Christmas Tree is approx 5'8-6' but I will check that on the net as its got me curious now.

14A the site isn't located in Liverpool....I don't fancy losing my own chestnuts by treading on someone's toes lol. There is ample room on the site for people to pull in and load their chosen tree into their vehicle. The site is also located just off a busy road that has retail shops either side. I share your few of the ' street sellers ' but I am just trying to make the most of this particular location that I basically have free use of If I want for Christmas.

Just be careful with wastage. I worked in a diy shop many moons ago, and each Christmas they would get a load a trees to sell, but the amount they had left and had to bin by December 24th far outweighed the profit they made on the ones they sold.
