Hi

I am trying to decide on a new domain name and of course with so many being taken, is it worth using a name with .org.uk and of course will be of similar content to the already taken co.uk ?

The name is keyword rich however, or should I forget it and try for something more memorable ?

Thanks

best of luck and show us your site when you have it up and running.

It can be a tough choice between keywords and brand name. Using SEO you will be able to boost a brand name towards the top on your keywords however it will be much longer drawn out than if keywords were in the domain.

If your idea is a niche opportunity then perhaps you don't need keywords in your domain name and a brand would be fine.

Hi Guys,

Thought i would give a little bit of different advice.

It might be worth noting that you can purchase two seperate domains, so you can have your keyword rich domain as your main domain and a more memorable domain as your marketing tool. This allows you to promote your keyword rich domain in the search engines for the chosen keywords, and your second domain, the more memorable domain could then automatically redirect to your keyword dense domain or become and 'alias' of the keyword rich domain.

This allows you to promote the easily memorable domain in the marketing arena when you require the user to remeber the domain name and promote the keyword rich domain when the user only has to click a link, i.e through the search engines.

So for example if your owned;

BathroomSuitesAndTaps.org.uk and BTSuites.co.uk you can promote the two domains in different fields and gain the maximum exposure for your website.

Sorry if that seemed a little confusing, PM me if you want me to try and explain it a little better.

Regards,

Neil Hancock
