Hello
In the event of my accountant not completing my SA return on time (as per my previous posts(, I am going through the process of inputting all my transactions on free agent.
Theres a few items I am wondering about if anyone can advise

1 - there has been two visits to a chiropractor due to a shoulder injury - as a plumber, I cant really have a few days off til its better and anti inflammatorymeds werent helping.
I paid for the chiropractor with my business debit card but now I am wondering f ths would be classed as business expense. On freeagent should i choose the 'consultancy' category , should i class this is as drawings, or as ive just noticed on the free agent self assessment form is it classed as 'goods and services for your own use'

2 - student loan - my previous employer was deducting for my student loan each month until I was made redundant in March 2024. I started as a sole trader in April 2024. The student loan section on the self assessment form says

Did you repay or were you due to repay a Student Loan or Postgraduate Loan?

Does this mean before April 2024? I havent repaid anything in tax year 2024/25 as this is my first self employed tax return

Thanks

Also....USE OF HOME is a category on free agent. I wonder if any of this can be classed as a business expense. I use some electricity, heating and wifi...the bills arent in my name though
I would say perhaps six hours a week for doing quotes, admin etc but as we are on a bill not a meter and sometimes theres just me in the house but sometimes theres a house full with ever light and heating appliance in use, I cant really narrow that down to what I use.

Also - lunches bought whilst a reasonable distance from home ....tesco meal deals are my go to when i am out and about, is this classed 'goods and services for your own use'....Ive paid for them a few times with my business debit card.

This is good place to start:

Probably can’t claim chiropractors fees.

Answer yes if you still have an outstanding balance on your student loan. The amount due should be calculated automatically when you submit your self assessment.
