Hi,

Was doing a bath chip repair today and the client asked if I was a member, if not I should look into it.

Had a look at their website BUT at over £500.00 per is it really worth it? Of course IF you are getting plenty of enquiries from it then it may pay for itself. Anyone use this? What sort of returns are you getting?

Thanks

I've never come across a single one of these trade websites that is worthwhile - vasy majority are a total waste of money.

Best bet is to get in touch with youe local trading standards dept and see if they are running the 'Buy with Confidence' scheme.

This scheme gets you registered on the councils own website as an approved business, allows you to use trading standards approved logo's on your van / flyers / advertising and is far more recognised and trusted by the public at large than any web site.

You can also apprar in council funded trade booklets and newspaper advertising alongside the 'buy with confidence' scheme explaination.

And it's only £50.00 to join!

EDIT: Just seen your loation - here you go!

Thanks, funny enough I contacted them on Thursday as I meet the criteria BAR one thing. They require me to write to the every customer advising distance selling rules and they have 7 days cooling off period. Well this does not happen in my business - eg tiler calls me to get a repair on a bath the next day or ASAP before his client sees it! The scheme advisor was meant to call me back but nothing as yet:|

Its not worth a penny a year.

The traffic levels of them sites are virtually zero.

They are just glammed up internet directories.

Even though the yellow pages is pretty crap and it seems not many are clearing a profit it would still be a better option than that.

Not sure how it works in the cities but here in Devon Yellow pages is useless for trades as most people only cover a radius or approx 20 miles from their base but the directory covers pretty much the whole county.

This means you pay to advertise but 95% of customers who look up your ad are out of your area.
