Cheapest transport company for EU to UK pallets?

I would like to know what companies people on here use if the imports pallets or LTL from the EU. I am currently receiving quotes of around £300 a pallet and that is such a large sum to pay especially when it comes out to around 10% or more of the actual value of goods inside the pallets.

Are there any cheaper companies anyone might know of and what should I expect to be paying?

My Italian suppliers always used agencies to find empty trucks returning to the UK. The most successful agents found enough pallets to make the return worthwhile.

I sent 20 cartons which equates to 1 pallet to NL for £265 this week. Sent them using DPD over 3 collections. I don't even bother with freight companies since 2021 Jan.

I see shipping companies as scam these days! I paid £700 from UK to EU for one pallet!
£300 for a pallet is a good price

My Italian supplier uses Dachser. I'm assuming they are getting a good rate, because they don't charge me for shipping, when the value of the goods is just around a few k.
