Cheapest Small Company Insurance

All,

Its that time of the year again to renew my small company insurance. Currently, my quote (from my existing supplier) is:

Employers Liabaility - £10mil
Public an Products Liability - £2m
Commercial Legal Protection - £500,000
Asset Protection - £2,500 (not sure I need or ever asked for this).

Current quote is from Aviva, and with taxes, comes to £340.

Can anybody suggest anybody who may be cheaper than this, or anything like Supermarket.com for business insurance.

No true aggregators for business insurance, at the moment they pass you through to either a single provider/ broker or a broker who makes themselves look like an aggregator by how they present themselves.

Go to the aggregators and follow the link for business/ SME and just check the small print as to who it is your really dealing with

As well as the cheapest, you may also want to investigate their payout policies etc. No point having the cheapest insurance if it won't pay or support you when you actually come to need it.

I would second that.... simplybusiness has consistantly given me a good deal over the last few years.

(I too am in no way associated with them other than taking my public liability insurance through them.)

Even if you don't end up using them , they are a good starting / bargaining point if you try elsewhere.

I had a quote for the mid 200's recently but don't have to hand who it was with. I can see if I can find the info when back in work tomorrow.

I trawled this four years back and found the local NFU folk were helpful and less than £300 for office contents and public liability insurance (separate policies). I've since put my company vehicle insurance with them too, quotes are around half other companies for ltd company vehicles. Also, since we contents insured with NFU we haven't had a break in which was a regular occurrence before that. Must be some mystic protection going on.

We recently renewed ours, called a few brokers and nearly all of them came up with Aviva having the best deal, so we went with them as they were offering a better policy as well as a cheaper one from our previous insurers. Saved £400 odd.
