Hi All,

How easy is it to change to accounting period (AP) of our limited company to another date.

The reason for this is that the AP end is too close to the end of the stakeholder pension input period (PIP).

Thanks,

George

Thanks for the replies - a few years back we shortened the accounting period for admin reasons - would it be possible to us to extend this current period which expires in a couple of months?

Would this cause recriminations from the tax office?

Thanks, George

Hi George

No, no reason why it should create any problem. Just send them a letter to notify them of the new accounting period.

You will need to prepare 2 CT600 tax returns if the period is more than 12 months.

So just to clarify, to change an accounting period you have to do so by submitting the appropriate form to CH as well as in writing to your HMRC office?

Yes that's correct
