CAS and logo - comments please

Hi everyone

I am considering changing the name of my business to from Cox Administrative Services to Cox Administrative Solutions. Which name would help you to be interested in my services?

Lynn,

A name is something far bigger than what appears on your business card or website. Your name reflects who you are, what you offer, how you differentiate, how you position yourself, and so on.

The trend in many industries right now is to offer a solution - which is bigger in scope than a product or a service. You should think through the implications of this for your business. In all honesty, can you offer a complete solution to your customers, rather than simply a service?

I am going to be cruel to be kind here, your logo is the first thing people see and you need it to accurately reflect your professionalism, so there is no point in me beating about the proverbial bush.

Those logos really are poor. Using images like that is just a cheap way of trying to make a bland logo look more interesting. You also need to think of the technicalities of having what is basically a square image as a logo, this makes integrating it into business cards or letterheads almost impossible without it looking terrible.

That's my honest assessment

I'm going to reflect, somewhat, the words of our esteemed colleague above.

The images would make for reasonably nice corporate flyers, leaflets and, possibly, business cards, however, logo's they aint.

This was the thing that surprised me, when I clicked on your link I was expecting a few different logo's, but what I actually found were some print layouts.

A logo is a specific thing, and using an image has all sorts of problems attached to it. You might like to read the information on the end of this link: http://www.eptv.co.uk/vectordef.htm That should help you see what you really need from a logo.

We, of course, would be more than happy to design a few development logo's for you to consider, if you should so wish.

I have to agree with the guys above, they are not logos. They would make nice backdrops to a powerpoint frame but I'm afraid thats about it for me.

There are a few talented logo designers around these forums, I'm sure one of them could sort it out for you.

Please don't get disheartened, actually it's quite positive, IF you do something about it.

With regards to quality of what was offered, they were originally saved as .gif but had to be changed to .jpeg for the purposes of uploading them to Yahoo.

I have to agree with what everyone else has said! Is there any point in me saying this???

I would geta logo done professionally. Eagle did mine. They normally give you a few designs so you can see what is possible. When you look at your own logo you should feel like your company! Whether it be professional, experts, lively or whatever.

I have to vouch for Lynn actually; in my dealings with her I've had with her I've found her very thorough. Administrative services says volumes to people who work in the industry so I know exactly what she means.

I like the first three designs Lynn, but I agree they'd be better as business cards. But you do need your logo on your business card really.
