Good evening Guys,

Started part time my own carpet cleaning business, not the cow boy stuff with the karcher puzzi or Rug doctor, I went all in, bought a brand new 800 psi machine, commercial vacuum, agitation machine, turbo dryer, good chemicals. My machine stays on the van and I run a 75ft hose, it looks really professional and the few costumers that I had were really impressed with the machine and my work.

The problem is that I'm struggling to find work, I do facebook boosted posts- Does not work for me, I do before and after pictures, I'm trying PAY PER CLICK now on google.

What other ways do you guys recommend in getting work?

Also, if you can let me know what you think of my website that that would be great. nw4carpetcleaning.co.uk

Hey good stuff. Setting yourself up with the right kit is paramount. Here's a couple of suggestions;

- AdWords can be great but be careful because if your keyword strategy is off, your ad copy or landing pages are not optimised for search terms your budget could be sucked up pretty quickly and no leads to show for it.

- Your videos are great, just make sure you hold your device landscape so it displays correctly on YouTube. Keep doing vids and begin by introducing yourself first. Tell viewers what you are going to show them, then show them. Finish by inviting them to subscribe to your channel and register for a free demo. Do a couple videos introducing viewers to your equipment, tell them why it's better than the cheaper alternatives. Talk in terms of benefit to the customer, not in terms of technical details.

- Change the home screen images on your website to represent your business better. They look like they belong on a parenting website.

- Create an about us page and get your mug up there. People want to know who they are hiring.

- Consider adding a means to take payment and a booking online. The easier it is for people to buy from you the better.

- Add testimonials from happy clients. Include their picture if you can.

- Write one article per week about the health benefits of your service. Talk about related subjects too. Subjects that are related but a little left field. Talk about health and welfare at work, talk about a clean and fresh business premises how it's inviting to clients, talk about the home and how expensive hospital visits can be avoided when carpets are deep cleaned once per year.

As regard to your client base, I'd suggest you target wealthy neighbourhoods with flyers to start. Imagine spending 20k on an expensive carpet for your living room, you'd want to maintain it right? You better believe it! Wealthy people are the ones who'll buy from you, especially if you look and sound the part.

Get out with your missus or friend or whatever and deliver a couple thousand flyers to wealthy homes that have the money to spend on carpet cleaning. Imagery and ad copy is important here if you want to get the calls so make sure you get that right. Include and exclusive discount code that they need to mention or present to you to get the deal.

You can make a lot of money at the game you're in, you just need to get to the mammys who like to spend their husbands money. (That's just one market niche)

Larry thank you for the great & honest advice, it's appreciated.

I wish I could do more videos but I'm not getting the jobs to do them, I will do more when I get the jobs coming in.

I'm going to sign to check a trade tomorrow, they promise a money back guarantee scheme, I will have to see what it's all about. They will do a 1 year contract but they said that if it's not working for me I'm getting some of my money back or my money back, will need to check this tomorrow.

PPC campaign is done by a company who was recommended by someone who used them back in 2012 and worked for them.

I have done facebook but it does not work for me, I don't know why?!!! Apparently some carpet cleaners get £800-£1000 of work with just £40-£80 per week.

I will do leaflets soon.

Any other advice is appreciated.

I don't think that will work, people only want the carpets cleaned because they need doing, not because I'm on their door knocking and trying to push a service. I'm not saying it will not work, I personally don't see as something professional.

What directories would you guys recommend on signing up to?
