We are working on a new service for care homes where the clinical waste is incinerated on site, in a contained unit, and the heat this process generates is harvested to be used in the care home - huge cost reductions for the care home on heating/hot water costs and clinical waste disposal costs.

The plan is to offer the tech/kit on a rental basis but we are struggling to ascertain how much it currently costs for the removal of the said clinic waste. We have tried waste collection companies and it seems it a huge secret unless you give them a myriad of information and title over your first born child:eek:
Does anyone know how much per kg it costs care homes to have clinic waste removed?
Thanks in advance. :)

I am not surprised waste companies won't tell you - you are their competition.

But you have more than price to sell on, because what you are proposing is fashionable - as in it fits with the green agenda.

In addition, presumably, there is a cost saving outside of your actual costs, too.

But you do need to find this information. I suspect you are more likely to find it from a care home themselves as part of your fact finding. I am sure a friendly home management person will be around somewhere who can help you out.

Haha. Yes we are their competition and they don't want to play nice!

The benefits of the package to a care home would be;
1. Reduced costs on waste disposal.
2. Reduced costs on heating and generation of hot water - which leads to reduced CO2 emissions for the care home.
3. The tech costs are from £15k per system plus install, but we would offer a rental scheme with full O&M over the term included - so no CAPEX to the care home. And this rental cost is planned to be 30% + cheaper than current waste disposal costs. The 30%+ would also include the savings on the heat/hot water generation for the care home.
4. Enhanced Corporate, Social Responsibility for the care home.

And we can combine the 'waste disposal and heat harvesting system' with our Combined Heat and Power (CHP) package which generates heat and power on site, producing even greater savings for the care home.

So, hopefully, as you said, a friendly care home management person may indeed, help me out:)
