Hello all,

I'm looking to set up mobile card processing for my business. The system is to accept payment at trade shows, clients homes etc so needs to be portable. Does anyone have any particular preferred provider as the providers I have looked at so far seem to be absolutely extortionate.

Depends on the volume of sales and frequency of use as to if it will be of value to you but you might consider a GPRS terminal which is a normal Chip & Pin type terminal but uses the mobile 3G network to communicate, perfect for taking payments at shows etc. Speak to our guys who can give you more information specific to your needs.

Whichever merchant service provider you go with avoid Cardnet like the plague !!! Probably the worst on the market

I got a mobile terminal with 123send and still do even though I no longer do shows. We use it in the shop and it saves clogging a phone line. Rentals are cheaper on a 3 year contract.

I would second the 123Send Terminal, but you will obtain a better rental rate if a member of the FSB. You will also need a Merchant Account and through FSB membership you can obtain this through Streamline which is compatible with 123Send.

What's your experience with customers on this? Do they trust it as much as with a chip and pin terminal?
