Capital Expenditure

I am a soletrader, I have just purchased a new laptop for my work, can i claim this all back this year, Im abit confused on how this works...... I am just putting it through currently as an expense.

If someone could elaborate that would be really helpful.

You need to put it through as capital expenditure. When you come to do your tax return you can claim 100% as Annual Investment Allowance (AIA).
