Hi Everyone

I am looking for some advice where I could find a canvassing agency or may be a canvassing team with a manager. I have a project where customers can have solar pv panels fitted for only £500. The problem I am having is finding a way to get this deal to the public.

I have tried call centres and lead companies and the appointments have been very poor. So I am trying the old fashioned approach by going door to door. The only problem I just cant seem to get good quality canvassers. Can anyone help me get the right people.

I worked in canvassing for a good 10 years for double glazing firms. That industry is dying now, and many of the canvassers are moving on to roof protection systems, but TBH selling the benefits of that is much more difficult, so I would think solar panels would work well, especially in the more affluent areas.

Most canvassers are poached from other firms by being offered better commission rates. They tend to be paid a commission on a sale, plus a 'dem' rate, ie: double glazing firms pay around £50 if the sales rep goes round to try and make a sale. Typically you/the company calls each provisionally made appointment to check that both home owners will be present when the rep calls, that the customer is looking to buy the product within the next 6 months, and that they are are working.

I'm in Nottingham and know quite a few, so if you can work the East Midlands area then let us know.

Canvassing is not dieing, my employer still has in excess of 30 full time door to door advisors.

I don't know if solar would work though as it is a relatively new technology and not the same as "your windows are looking old mrs smith would you like a free price?"

SEO definately works, as does local advertising be it online or in quality magazines with readers who have money.

Hi There,

The poor results that you have via phone marketing may just have been down to the agency that you used.

Telemarketing is one of the best ways to generate leads, so it may be wise to look at telemarketing companies that have experience in calling for solar installation?
