Hi can anyone help, my website has been live since Jan 2012 and google still hasn't found all my pages. I have 700 odd pages but google only recognise 205 or so, any reason why this is taking so long? can I get Google to do this quicker?

Have you got a sitemap? If yes have you submitted it in Google webmaster tools? Is your navigational system adequate on the site? These are both effective ways of getting google to index all your pages. But some times it just takes time and you will slowly see them increase.

Google are unpredictable, so usually just a waiting game. (to begin with)

are they unique enough to warrant inclusion in the Google index? THAT is the main reason for non indexing. That said, is there a pattern of pages? it could be they are no accessible for the spider.

mmm are these non-indexed pages orphan pages?

Sounds like a link architecture problem to me, pages are to many clicks away to be found.

BUT like the old boy said above, maybe the pages are close to being dup

You are right. By making sitemap and submit to Google Webmaster we can easily get indexed, it's such notifying Google that we are exist and another way is to ping your sitemap using pingomatic.com.

With doing that I only get 2 seconds to get my new page or post indexed by Google.

Cheers

Thats what I thought, 700 pages! thats a large site, I would expect it to take some time and as the above poster, wonder what the content was to justify such a large website?

I would assume, that with a large site, you already have an RSS feed. If you don't then get one.

Ensure that you submit your RSS feed to Google Webmaster Tools, as well as your site index file. Many people omit this, which is a big mistake.

I have had Google index pages within two minutes of my uploading an RSS feed, which, to be honest, took me by surprise. Try it.

Good luck!
