My friend has used his address for his own company registration.

Can I use his address for another company registration?

Does company house have any specific requirement on the address, say one address can only be used for one company registration?

Many thanks,
Zoe

Hi Zoe

You can use the same address for the registered office without any problems.

In fact, a registered office is a service a lot of accountants offer.

We have lots of companies registered at our office, it just means all "official" post (and lots of junk mail!) is sent there

Hi Zoe,

It is correct that you can use the same address for multiple company registrations.

Companies House have no restrictions on this and, as already mentioned, many accountancy firms and formation agents offer their own address to clients for use as a registered office address - meaning lots of companies registered at the same address. It is nothing to worry about.

As long as you have his permission, it is fine. Just make sure that you don't cause your friend any problems by not returning accounts and annual returns on time, as this results in a lot of mail coming to his house, and if used as a trading address also, make sure you do not cause your friend any problems from customers, suppliers, etc.

Yes that's fine.

You will see businesses offering registered office addresses that are used by a very large number of companies.

As long as the property is yours (owned or leased) or you have the permission of the person that does own / lease it then its fine. I was told that if the property is a commercial one, you need to have a sign outside stating the property is the registered office, but if its a residential one, such a sign wouldnt be needed.
