Can i issue a invoice for gym training as my ltd company is registered as Business consultants. I trained sumone in the gym and got money for it but client wants invoice for it . I have got a ltd company which is registered as business consultants . Can I legally issue him a gym/ personal training invoice ? I am not a qualified personal trainer as well. It's just that don't want to be in legal trouble by issuing him an invoice . Pls help.

Yes you can invoice for this, BUT I would suggest that you get insurance before you ever do this again.

Thanks for reply . Am not gonna personal train him or others now so I won't need insurance . Client also knows am not qualified PT. So you suggest it's ok to issue him an invoice and I won't be in legal trouble ? As he wants invoices for last 10 months which is upto £4.5k.

What has business consultant got to do with Gym Training, that is the point you will need to prove to HMRC if they do a check on you especially as you are not a professional in that field.

On first impression it looks a scam so you really need to have the answers to the reason why a business consultant should spend time with a customer in the gym and how you advise when working out at the same time, presumably also backed up by proof you brought their ticket etx

I work for a gym full time and do sales and during my off days I do my business consultancy thing as I have few clients . As am already in the gym I do train my client/ friends and some pay to me for it .

So when they ask for invoice i can issue them via my company as they deposit money into my company account but now they asking for invoice . So was asking if it was ok to give . I have worked in gym for last 7 yrs so know things but don't have a professional qualification which even my clients knows so ters nothing dodgy.

Legal trouble as in because my firm/ltd company is registerd as business consultancy and not as health services or gym industry . So can a business consultancy firm issue an invoice for gym industry thing or personal training services .

I'd be more concerned about the money you're getting in that you're not issuing an invoice for; hopefully you're declaring that income.
Do you do the training while on company time?

Is the crux of the issue not perhaps that they want you to issue an invoice for business consultancy, even though the time was spent in the gym ie. I assume business consultancy would be tax deductable for their business, whereas personal training wouldn't be

I can't see why they would want invoices detailing personal training, as it would be very little use to them from a business point of view
