Right - as usual it seems quicker to come here and ask rather than negotiate the hmrc's "help".

Question - Am I able to download the VAT return I made online 3 months ago?

I've just done the new one and saved it properly but checking back it seems I screwed up saving it last time... so I don't have a copy. I can't find any straightforward way to do this on the hmrc site - can it be done?:|

I couldn't find mine either. I always save as a pdf normally to get round this. Sorry this is not more help.

Thanks - it is actually helpful to know someone else can't find it and its not just me. Yeah - normally I save mine all nice but made a wee mistake last time. I could work it all out from the books and so on but it would be cool to just download it in the same way that you can download (I believe) old personal tax statements and returns????

Cheers

Dr Paul:)

Online VAT leaves a lot to be desired.

You can call HMRC to get a copy from them. They whinge a bit that you should keep a copy of your records (even if you have a good reason for losing a copy, like a fire in your archives!), but they have never imposed a penalty on us and do provide the copies we need.
