Hello,

I'm starting up my own business and was wondering if I would be able to accept CV's via e-mail on a human.resources (at) ect ect.co.uk and be able to read them without being taken to court or anything?

Do I need licenses or anything to enable me to do this?

You should have developed an employment policy that depicts the role in which you are advertising...you should also have a contract of employment put in place so that your successful candidate can sign; and you as the "Company" adhere to.

There is no legal restriction to advertise for roles that are available in your company.

But you must ensure that your company fulfills all health and safety compliance; as this will be stipulated within the contract of employment.

If anyone from a legal or HR background can provide further information on this topic it would be deeply appreciated.

I'll explain the role.

They work from there own home, calling prospective clients to enable them to sign up to my service. They have to use there own telephones, internet service, they then e-mail me the details and I phone the client up to finalise any thing that needs finalising such as the contract being read and recorded.

Cobra the sales company that work with N-Power ect they employee people but on a self-employed basis to walk door to door to sign people up to n-power.

They then get paid a commission and they choose when they work.

as any employment law consultant will tell you dealing with employment aw is complex and a minefeild at the best of times. if your looking to take on staff then it would be best get some advice before asking for C.V's and advertising for a position.

not to mention making sure you have the right insurance. there are many website that job seekers post their C.V's on and you can search through them or perhaps a recruitment agency may save you a few problems.

My company is one of many that can help you deal with the employment Law and the health and safety and giude you through every step from the start if you want more details i can provide them for you but you should shop around
