Was watching some thing on tv the other day about call centres and it got me thinking

Apart from brands who sell there own products

How do the others get there work

For example the calls we get for ppi is that there product or are they just the sales company the ppi company asked them to get leads

Just got me thinking that's all

Can you remember what the show at called? I would of assumed through outsourcing, call centres with ready trained staff to take on jobs, like selling ppi, or selling another brands products. I guess a lot of telemarketing campaigns are short lived

Oh it was not a tv show all about call centres just some body who worked in a call centre as there job nothing to do with the call centre

It is possibly a mixture of both. In the case of PPI for example Claim Management companies will normally have their own telemarketing dept generating leads for themselves. Some companies will outsource the lead generation side of things and then either pay per lead or on a pay per hour basis
